Poker gems, #181

James McManus, in Card Player magazine article, November 5, 2008 (vol. 21, #22), p. 86:

Playing [Chip] Reese and [Ted] Forrest three-handed is usually quicker than filing a Chapter 11 petition.

Possibly taken out of context. Anyone who has read Michael Craig's PB&SK is reminded of Reese and Forrest playing Andy Beal in a three-handed $10K/$20K Hold 'Em game.

While bankruptcy is a likely outcome for most in a three handed match with two of the best players in the world, Mr. Beal was far from an incompetent player and is one of the few people in the world that is truly bankrolled to play such high stakes.

Don't get me wrong, I usually love your poker gems, but I think this one is... misplaced.
