Heart Attack Grill

Today I met a friend for lunch at the new Hash House a Go Go inside the Plaza downtown. On my walk there, I passed another new restaurant that I don't think was there last time I went by. It's the Heart Attack Grill. As you can see from the big sign that hangs outside of it, if you're over 350 pounds, you eat for free. Their waitresses are dressed as nurses, and customers are given hospital gowns to wear while they eat. The burgers--which seems to be the main fare on the menu--are graded single through quadruple "bypass." You can get a side dish of "Flatliner Fries." Etc.

I'm not sure whether to be amused or appalled by the whole thing.

This chain/restaurant has been around for awhile. I think I saw them do an episode from 60 minutes or something on it a few years ago. Just another take on over eating that tries to not take itself seriously.

Really no different than you see on the Food Network when they go in to a restaurant and feed you half a cow as a challenge. Same as when I see Man vs Food and the challenges he does..this place just gets you prepared for the inevitable..

The original is in Prescott or Chandler, AZ. I saw an episode about it on some cable channel and thought it was a cool concept. OK, OK, the "nurses" are hot. I knew I'd never get a chance to go there, so I am pumped about trying it out during my next LV trip in a few weeks.
