The dog would definitely make a more honorable poker player than the human. We can lie but not like a dog. True, the pupper's character is drawn into question having befriended us but it may well be that the dog did so with an attraction to calamity. The hound snickers on a burt out hillside. The dog as a witness to the bald monkey comes relatively late in it's history. The pupper does not short chip mother nature as we do. (See Vegas) This is not to say that a beagle wouldn't sandbag or that a poodle would be beyond high pawing all around after sucking out on a gut shot.
