Once again, demands of real life are about to put a temporary halt to poker and blogging.
My mother's health has been failing for the past couple of years. Sadly, it is rapidly becoming untenable for her to remain at home. Tomorrow I'm driving back up to Salt Lake City to help my dad figure out what other arrangements need to be made.
I expect to be gone for a week or so, without much opportunity or motivation to be writing about poker. I trust you all will understand and be patient.

These are tough decisions for your family. I remember arranging for my dear grandma to move to an assisted living facility - against her will - and it was the most difficult of decisions, especially for her daughters. My thoughts are with you and your family during the coming week...
Best wishes for you & your family.
Good luck, Grump. We all wish you well and eagerly await your return.
Thoughts are with you.
Absolutely...Dealing with a Mom's in beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Take care of business and you'll be in our thoughts...
Best of luck & wishes to your family. Love the blog & look forward to your coming back. Family always comes first.

Hope you are able to get things worked out for your mom. Definitely can be a trying time, hope things work out as well as can be.
Take care, we'll be here when you get back.

So very sorry to hear about your mom's failing health. Hope you can find peace in the decisions you and your dad are forced to make.
Dear Grump,
I am incredibly sorry to hear about your mother's health situation.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
All the best to you and your family, Grump. I'm in the same boat -- moving my mom into a senior home this Friday. It sucks, but it's necessary. The best we can hope for is that our loved ones are safe and receiving the care they need. I'm glad you could be there for her, and I'm sure she is too.
So sorry, Grump. Be well.
Wishing you all the best in this tough time mate
Missing you, Grump. Hoping for the best for you and your family.
